People Who Went in but Fell for the Lies

People Who Went in but Fell for the Lies

We had heard word about “Kristallnacht” or night of broken glass. We wanted to visit just to see if this area was suspicious or not. A few days later we finally made it to the area of were Kristallnacht took place and it was terrible, burned synagogues and broken stores. It was an insane sight to see. I was shocked when I first saw what it was crazy how someone could do that to another group of people just because of a shooting. I guess it meant a lot more to them then it does to me. After we visited Kristallnacht we were going to check out another suspicious place called “Terezin.” And when we first got there it seemed like a very friendly, clean, and laidback environment. If I lived here I probably wouldn’t mind, or at least I thought it didn’t. While on the trip I saw a woman, middle aged and she seemed to be a little tense and on-edge. So a couple of things popped into my head, how could a place be this perfect, and how could it have such warm hearted people? So a few months later we got word of how at the place we visited the second time, Terezin they were holding concentration camps and killing millions of Jews. Once we heard this news we were very surprised and disappointed. And I wanted to find the evil and vicious man behind this terrible act of hatred against other human beings who would never do that to them and probably don’t even want revenge. I was disgusted in the thought of it. The worst thing about it is the man behind it all; Adolf Hitler committed suicide that was embarrassing I would say because after all he did, he killed himself. At least something like this event won’t happen for another couple decades, I hope at least. I’m thankful I wasn’t involved in this event and I was safe in the United States. I’m also very sad I couldn’t of made a difference when I was there, but then again how easy would that of been?
